Renault & Nissan Comeback in India: 6 New Cars Set to Launch in 2026

Renault and Nissan are planning a strong comeback to the Indian market with at least six new models after staying silent for a long time. The new model news has brought joy among car enthusiasts. If you are wondering about the models, you can find everything about them here. 

Renault and Nissan have not launched any new cars in India for several years now. The last product for Nissan Magnite in 2020 and Renault Triber in 2019, following facelift versions, or some minor updates in the existing models.

According to the reports, both brands are coming back with multiple models in the coming years from 2026. The expected models can be a premium SUV, EV, and others that will target the current booming market in India. Here you can check all six expected models of Renault and Nissan in 2026.

Renault Boreal 

Renault is planning to bring a large seven-seater SUV in the second half of 2026 that will be based on the upcoming Duster model. The concept will be called Boreal, accommodating a third row of seats. 

The Renault Boreal is expected to have the 1.3L turbo-petrol engine, while the hybrid version can have the 1.6L petrol hybrid engine. The reports claim it will compete with the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus in the Indian market.

Renault Duster

One of the most anticipated launches of the Renault in 2026 is the next-generation Renault Duster. The model has been spotted testing multiple times recently, increasing the excitement. The reports claim Renault can launch the new Duster in January or the first quarter of 2026. 

The new Duster will have a muscular and rugged stance, taking inspiration from the global model, along with the same changes that can suit the Indian market. The new Duster will be built on the Renault CMF-B platform, and it will have the 1.3L turbo petrol engine, generating 154 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. 

Some reports say Renault can later release the hybrid version of the Renault Duster and bring back the old spirit of the Duster.

Renault Kwid EV

The electric vehicle market in India is flourishing well, so to have a major comeback, you must have an EV lineup. Renault is doing the same among the upcoming three models; they have included one EV model, which is, Kwid EV. 

The electric hatchback will look similar to the petrol version with some tweaks here and there, considering the EV requirement, like a charging pod, and others. The report says it can be based on the Davis Spring EV, and it will feature a 26.8 kWh battery that can take 225 km on a single charge.

Nissan Tekton

Nissan has planned to disrupt the C-SUV market with their all-new Nissan Tekton that is manufactured in partnership with Renault at Chennai. The new Tekton design inspiration comes from the iconic SUV, Nissan Patrol. 

The upcoming model will have a powerful sculpted bonnet, C-shaped head lamp, lower bumper adding to the bold and rugged look. The brand’s newest edition is the compact Patrol or baby Patrol. You can expect the model to have a 1.3L turbopetrol engine producing 154 bhp or 190 hp in a hybrid setup.

Nissan MPV

Another model of Nissan that has been spotted testing in India is the Nissan MPV based on the Renault Triber. According to the reports, the Nissan MPV can land in the Indian market in early 2026. 

The design of the Nissan MPV will be somewhat similar to the Triber facelift version, where the front fascia can have some changes, such as a new grille, redesigned bumper with C-shaped LED fog lamps, and LED DRLS. 

The report claims the Nissan MPV will have a 1L petrol Engine generating 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque with a 5-speed automatic/ manual transmission.

Nissan Tekton-7 seater

Exploring the C-SUV segment, Nissan has planned to bring the 7-seater Nissan Tekton along with Tekton to serve Indian families. The 7-seater will come with a slight difference in styling from the 5-seater Tekton. 

The Tekton 7-seater can have 1L/ 1.2L/ 1.6L turbo-petrol/ hybrid options with manual/automatic transmission. The model will have all the other features to elevate the experience of the users and ensure their safety.
