Ducati Enters Motocross in India With Desmo450MX; Launch Expected Q1 2026

Ducati unveiled its first motocross motorcycle, Desmo450MX, in India at the Indian Supercross Racing League Season 2 finale. Bike enthusiasts who are excited about this new motorcycle can check the launch timelines and other details here. 

The Ducati enters the new segment through this model and expands its off-road motorcycle range in the Indian market. The brand showcased the new motocross model in front of a big crowd, making a grand entry with the Desmo450MX.

The model reflects the Ducati ambition and heritage that add to the excitement among potential buyers. The Ducati India MD is overjoyed with the response of the fans to their new off-road segment and optimistic about the success of the model, considering the growing motorsport culture in India. 

Ducati Desmo450MX Launch 

Ducati Desmo450MX is revealed for the Indian market on 21 December 2025 at the ISRL Season 2 finale in Calicut. This is the first time the brand has revealed its glimpse of its motocross model in the Indian market. 

Ducati India officials have confirmed its launch in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2026. The brand has not made any official release date or booking details public yet. The brand unveiled that this is the first motorcycle in its category to feature an engine with desmodronic velvetrain. 

Ducati Desmo450MX Design 

According to the shared details and a glimpse at ISRL 2025, you can find the new motocross model to have the following appearance:

  • Ducati has kept it lightweight with an aluminium body and design that will reduce the weight of the model, elevating the rider’s experience. 
  • The model will have no frills around the aluminium perimeter frame for better control and agility in tough terrain. 
  • The model was built with the least amount of welding joints to give a strong structural strength and stability, and reduce the drawbacks.
  • The overall bike weighs around 104.8 kg, while the frame weighs around 9 kg, offering better control and handling.  
  • The showcased model was in bright red with black tires, seats, and a naked engine. The model is designed with the Borgo Panigale racing DNA of Ducati off-road motorcycles. 

Ducati Desmo450MX Specifications

Now, moving on to the Desmo450MX performance and specifications, here’s what you can find:

  • Engine: The model will have a desmodromic timing system, 4 valves DOHC, Desmo450, single cylinder, hydraulic tensioner, liquid-cooled, and semi-dry sump engine of 449.6 cc displacement, producing 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. 
  • Transmission: The model has 5 gears with quick shift only up, final drive of Chain DID DMS 520, multi-late with hydraulic control. 
  • Dimension: The model will have a wheelbase of 1494 mm, a seat height of 970 mm, a trail of 118.4 mm, and a fuel capacity of 7.2L. 
  • Brakes & suspension: The model will have Showa upside-down front fork front suspension, and Showa mono shock rear suspension. It will have a Galfer 260 mm single disc, a Brembo piston floating caliper as front brake, and a Galfer 240 mm as rear brake. 
  • Safety features: The Desmo450MX will have Ducati Traction control, hourmeter, Ducati fall detection, riding modes, engine brake control, and others for better safety.

Ducati Desmo 450MX Price 

Ducati has not revealed the price for the first motocross model, Desmo 450MX; however, based on its international price, we can estimate the price. The Ducati Desmo 450MX starts from 

$11,495 in the US market. 

So, in the Indian market, you can expect the Desmo 450MX to be available at a price range between ₹10 lakh to ₹12 lakh. The brand will officially reveal the Desmo 450MX price with the official launch.

The Indian market will soon have the Ducati first motocross model, the Desmo 450MX, in the first quarter of 2026, so bikers or racers keep an eye on the official channels to stay up-to-date about the launch.
