Hyundai To Launch 26 New Models In India By FY30, Including 5 EVs And 8 Hybrids

Hyundai Motors is making every effort to strengthen its foothold in India. During the launch of the new generation Venue, the Korean auto manufacturer officially confirmed that it plans to launch 26 car models in the country by fiscal year 2030.

The next generation Venue, which was launched recently, is the first car in this series. Hyundai Motor wants to not only increase its market share but also wants to build a trust that the company is ready to provide an option for every type of buyer.

The cars that are going to be launched by FY 2030 will not only be new cars but will be a balanced mix of electric vehicles, CNG, hybrid, and conventional engines. Let us know the details available regarding the 26 cars to be launched in the next 5 years.

26 New Vehicles by 2030

Most of the 26 cars to be launched by Honda Motors will be combustion engine cars. Second in number are hybrid cars, third are CNG, and fourth are electric vehicles. No specific number has been made public regarding any powertrain cars.

According to some media sources, Korean automakers will launch a total of five electric models and eight hybrids in India by 2030. The company is also considering bringing some vehicles to the Indian market that demonstrate superior off-road capability.

Local EV production in India to begin by 2027

Hyundai Motors plans to begin electric vehicle production in India in 2027, with a launch scheduled for this year. The Korean automaker has made this decision in response to the growing demand for electric vehicles in India.

Manufacturing EVs in India will be beneficial for the company on two fronts. Firstly, it will increase its sales amid rising demand, and secondly, by producing in the country itself, its costs will also reduce.

Models like Kona Electric, Ioniq 5, etc., will be launched in India by Hyundai Motors, which will be available with different battery packs and will have the capability to run hundreds of kilometers on a full charge.

MPV and off-road SUV are also included

Hyundai Motors has not yet launched any vehicle in the off-road or MVP category in India, but the company’s upcoming vehicles will include both these categories.

The upcoming multipurpose vehicle from Hyundai Motors will be available with a seating capacity of 7 people, with ample boot space, a long wheelbase, and high ground clearance.

If we’re talking about off-road vehicles, this one will rival the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. The company-launched vehicle will be available with a rugged body, a tough look, and a 4×4 drivetrain.

Indian manufacturing center to become a global hub

Hyundai’s new decision is that it will now manufacture cars in India and export them to other countries. This has already been done with the Alcazar, and now it’s the Venue’s turn.

The company itself has said that the Venue is being manufactured in a Pune plant, which will be exported to more than 30 countries. The export is going to start very soon.

It will make India not only a major market for the company but also a global production hub. The automaker aims to have 30% of its total sales come from exports by 2030.

Market share and entry of premium brands

Hyundai Motors’ sole aim is not just to launch new cars; they also want to ensure that their market share improves in the Indian market. The company aims to have a market share of approximately 15% by 2030.

The company’s luxury brand, “Genesis,” is set to be available in the Indian market from 2027. It is known for its premium sedan and SUV lineup. Its launch will directly compete with luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.
