Maruti Suzuki is going to launch its first electric car, the ‘e-Vitara,’ in India in the next few weeks. This electric car is being eagerly awaited among auto enthusiasts.

This electric car is going to be available in multiple variants with the aim of catering to all types of buyers. It is going to be an SUV that has good ground clearance and boot space.

It will be available with two battery options in the Indian market and will feature a spacious interior. Its design is quite aerodynamic, giving it a catchy appearance.

Launch & Price 

The eVitara will be launched by Maruti Suzuki in mid-December 2025; the ex-showroom price of the standard battery pack is going to be around Rs 17 lakh, and for the long-range battery, it is going to be Rs 22.5 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed the exact date of the launch of the car and its actual ex-showroom price. The launch date will be disclosed soon, and we will get to know its ex-showroom price after its launch.

Battery Packs 

Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the e-Vitara with two battery packs, which will be 49 kWh and 61 kWh, whose specifications are:

49 kWh:

  2. Chemistry: LFP blade-cell (thermal stability, long cycle life)
  3. Motor Layout: Single motor, FWD
  4. Power: ~142 bhp (~106 kW)
  5. Torque: ~192 Nm
  6. Range: ~344 km
  7. Real-world Focus: Efficiency-oriented daily use, urban strong
  8. Charging: Fast-charge ~10–80% in ~45 mins (claimed)

61 kWh:

  1. Battery Capacity: ~61 kWh
  2. Chemistry: LFP blade-cell
  3. Motor Layout: Single motor, FWD
  4. Power: ~172 bhp (~128 kW)
  5. Torque: ~193 Nm
  6. Range: ~426 km
  7. Real-world Focus: Performance + long-distance capability
  8. Charging: Fast-charge ~10–80% in ~45 mins (claimed)

The facts and figures given above are totally expected; we will make available the actual details after the launch of the car.

Dimensions 

The length, width, and height of this electric car are 4,275 mm, 1,800 mm, and 1,635 mm, which make it a mid-size sport utility vehicle. The ground clearance of this car will be 180 mm, which will help the car run smoothly even on the rough condition roads.

The wheelbase, i.e., the difference between the front and rear of this electric car, is 2700 mm, which is quite a good distance for the stability of the car. It also results in giving good headroom and legroom for all passengers, and the boot space of this EV is likely to be around 320 liters.

Safety Features 

To ensure the safety and convenience of occupants, the car features Level 2 ADAS, which consists of automatic braking, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, etc., and advanced safety features, which include:

  • The car comes with 7 airbags, which ensures the safety of all occupants, including the driver and passengers.
  • It has an anti-lock braking system that prevents wheels from locking during sudden braking, and electronic brake-force distribution ensures that braking forces are distributed among tires for better stability.
  • The feature of the Electronic Stability Program prevents the car from skidding on sharp turns.
  • The Tire Pressure Monitoring System notifies the driver about tire pressure.
  • It comes with a 360° camera and front & rear parking sensors, which help in smooth commuting.
  • Additionally, it has Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, and Crash-optimized Body + Battery Safety Shield.
