Toyota has been bringing something fresher with new technologies, making the new Hilux more premium than ever. The design of the electric and combustion engines may have a little bit of difference that you can notice easily.

New Toyota Hilux launch

As the Toyota Hilux steps into the ninth generation, the brand is bringing everything for the users, first-ever fully EV pickup truck and other powertrains.  The brand will release the Toyota Hilux EV in the global market except the US market by December 2025.

The ICE model of the Toyota Hilux will be launched globally by mid-2026. Toyota has not confirmed its launch in India, but seeing the BEV or EV market of India, we expect the company to launch it in India as well in 2027 or later.

New Toyota Hilux Exterior

The all-new Toyota Hilux has become tougher and bolder to provide an experience of premium premium-looking pick-up truck, such as:

  • The new Hilux design is sharper and more angular, like a smaller Toyota Tacoma, where you can see the Toyota name on the nose, removing the classic emblem.
  • The EV model has closed off the front end since it does not need the same amount of cooling as the diesel or gasoline options.
  •  The ICE version will have a honeycomb pattern grille in the front, which is a little different from the EV version’s look.
  • The charging port will be on the front fender for the EV version, whereas the fuel tank of the other version will be at the rear end.
  • The back of the model has a leaning tailgate, a new rear deck step, redesigned side steps, and C-shaped LED running lights.
  • The model has alloy wheels depending on the powertrain. The EV version has body colored cladding and aerodynamic alloy wheels, while the ICE and diesel versions have black coloured cladding.

New Toyota Hilux Interior

The interior of the new Toyota Hilux will have something new that you may not find in the previous Hilux models, such as:

  • You will have a modern interior whose inspiration is taken from the latest Land Cruiser, where you can find the upright dashboard.
  • The model features a 12.3-inch display screen, whereas the climate control and 4×4 controls still have the physical switches.
  • The new model features AWDm drive modes, HVAC, and other notable features, such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor, OTA updates, and others.

Toyota has explained the powertrain for the EV and ICE versions; let’s see what you can expect from the upcoming Hilux pickup truck:

New Toyota Hilux Expected Price

The Toyota 2026 Hilux has modern architecture, advanced features, and multiple powertrains, so the price may vary depending on the version. The EV version Toyota Hilux can be a little pricier than the other counterparts.

If the EV version of Hilux is launched in the Indian market, you can expect its price to be around ₹33 lakh-₹40 lakh, whereas the ICE version can cost around ₹30 lakh to ₹37 lakh, and the mid-hybrid diesel version can cost around ₹28 lakh to ₹35 lakh.

The price of the Toyota Hilux is not revealed by the brand yet, so it is all speculation. The real deal will be revealed soon with the EV version launching in December 2025.

Toyota has upped its game with the first-ever EV pick-up truck and multiple powertrain models, which will provide many options to users with the best features and better performance.
