Honda has confirmed the sixth-generation Honda City development featuring a new platform and design inspired by the 0 Series Sedan. Car enthusiasts excited about the new Honda City model can check the available details here. 

Honda City is one of the most successful models of the brand, and now, the brand is set to introduce a new City model to elevate the experience of the customers. Honda is planning to launch various models, including hybrid models and line-ups, for 2028.

Recently, Honda has released the fifth-generation City model, offering advanced technology, comfort, and high performance. The brand has showcased the Honda 0 series at the Japan Mobility Show, which will be inspiring the new City model design. 

New Honda City Launch 

Honda has not revealed the official release date of the new Honda City; however, they have confirmed that the new model will be launched in 2028. The launch of the Honda City with a new platform and design will be a major step for the brand in the sedan segment.

The sixth-generation Honda City has not been properly unveiled yet; hence, its production timeline and other details are yet to be made public. The new Honda City will compete with the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia etc. 

The first PF2 based on the model of Honda was due in 2027, whereas the Honda 0 series is expected to be released in 2026 or later. 

New Honda City Design

Since Honda has confirmed the new Honda City model, the major talk was about its design, which is inspired by the new 0 series. Here you can learn about the new Honda City and its design to learn including the interior and exterior:

  • The reports suggest the new Honda City will have a sleek design with a sharp front, athletic profile, and bold stance. 
  • The design will be adopted from the new Honda 0 series, which will make it more premium and bolder.
  • The new City model will be built on the PF2 modular platform, which is designed for electric and hybrid powertrains. 
  • The new platform will make the model lighter and enhance its efficiency and performance of the model.
  • The interior of the new Honda City will be equipped with a digital panel, advanced infotainment, and many features that will elevate your experience and ensure your safety, such as airbags, ADAS, Honda Sensing, and a collision-mitigating braking system, and others. 

New Honda City Performance   

Honda has not made any technical or mechanical details of the 2028 Honda City public; however, based on expectations, you can expect the following specs:

  • The new Honda City will support electric, hybrid, and internal combustion powertrains that will come with many variants.
  • The model will have faster charging, a strong battery backup, and a decent driving range, ideal for long touring. 
  • The current model of the new city has a 1.5 L petrol engine with a six-speed (MT/ CVT) transmission and an engine capacity of 1498cc. The new model can have some changes in the engine and its capacity. 
  • The engine and performance of the new City model need to meet the current trends, such as a turbo engine,1.5 i VITEC, and others that will make the model stronger than other rivals.  
  • The new model will comply with the emission norms and will focus on introducing the hybrid model that will be fully power-packed.

New Honda City Expected Price

Honda has not made any statement on the price of the new Honda City model to be launched in 2028; however, based on the current model price and the new additions to the model, you can estimate the price.

For instance, the current Honda City is available at a price of ₹11,95,300 in the Indian market, so with new features, powertrain, design, and platform, we can expect the price to go higher, around ₹15 lakh or ₹17 lakh, based on the hybrid or electric powertrain and its variants. 

Honda is focusing on new platforms, electric models, and new concepts that will advance their mobility solutions and introduce better options for customers. City model is one of the best-selling models, and now the brand is set to bring attractive changes through new design, performance through powertrains, and built on a new platform.
