Engine, Gearbox & Drivetrain

The Tata Punch Facelift is powered by the 1.2 L Revotron NA petrol engine, which features 3 cylinders. Its displacement is 1199 cc, which generates the power of 86.6 to 88 PS at 6000 rpm and torque of 113 to 115 Nm at ~3150 to 3350 rpm.

It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed automated manual transmission gearbox. The engine powers its front wheels, so it comes with a front-wheel drive drivetrain.

Performance & Fuel Efficiency

The maximum speed of the Tata Punch Facelift is expected to be 150 km/h, which is quite good in its segment. The acceleration timing of 0-100 km is likely to be 12-14 seconds with MT; the same with AT may take 14-16 seconds.

The mileage of this car with the manual transmission is estimated to be slightly higher than the automatic. The manual one is expected to give a range around 19-20 kmpl, and the automatic is likely to give fuel efficiency of 18-19 kmpl.

Chassis, Brake & Suspension

The highlight for the Tata Punch Facelift is that it is built on the ALFA-ARC platform, which is also used in other Tata Motors cars. It is known for strong crash structure and safety. The details about the brake and suspension are as follows:

  • Brakes: The front one is disc, but the rear is drum.
  • Suspensions: The front one is an independent MacPherson strut with a coil spring, and the rear is a semi-independent twist beam with a coil spring.

The front brake gives confident stopping, the rear is cost-effective and reliable, and both suspensions are tuned for comfort on bad roads and stable driving.

Exterior & Interior

The exterior of the Tata Punch Facelift is bold, rugged, and fresher than the existing one, and the interior is quite roomy with updated tech and a youthful design. Their highlights are as follows:

  • Exterior: Bold front grille, LED headlamps & DRLs, redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps.
  • Interior: Larger touchscreen infotainment, new Tata steering wheel, dual-tone dashboard, comfortable seats, and connected car features.

Dimensions & Capacity

The Tata Punch Facelift’s dimensions in terms of length, width and height are 3,827 mm, 1,742 mm, and 1,615 mm. The wheelbase of 2,445 mm is quite long for better stability at high speed and gives ample legroom for occupants.

The ground clearance is kept at 187 mm to meet the Indian road conditions; it makes running this car even on uneven roads possible and helps to pass over potholes and speed breakers. It comes with a seating capacity of 5 people and a boot space of 366 litres.
